POSITION: ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prospective hires must have excellent verbal, written, communication and organization skills. Familiarity with various commercial geotechnical and structural engineering practices, technology, software (AutoCAD), and laboratory testing is beneficial. Experience in course work or field work related to Soil Mechanics, Foundation, and Structural Engineering is also a plus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work successfully under the supervision of project managers
  • Communicate with clients and subcontractors in the field
  • Perform field/lab materials inspection and testing (soil, concrete, etc.)
  • Perform foundation/retaining wall design using AutoCAD
  • Assist in subsurface exploration projects working with drill rigs and other related equipment
  • periodic site visits and reconnaissance
  • construction monitoring
  • co-ordinate fieldwork
  • review field data and samples
  • work in coordination with engineering technicians, staff engineers, project managers, clients and subcontractors

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Office and field environment – require walking, moderate to heavy lifting, infrequent climbing, and exposure to temperature, heavy equipment and noise.
  • Procedural and process-oriented structure, due to strict regulatory requirements
  • Must have valid State of Tennessee Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass drug test
